Arrived in Istanbul

Well we all survived the flights and have made it here to Istanbul. It was 9 hours to Frankfurt, then another 3 to Istanbul. Flying on Lufthansa was nice.

The stopover wasn’t too bad as we were able to have a beer at 7:00am. We also got up to some showing off in the terminal.

After getting to Istanbul, we fought our way through customs, then the festival picked us up in the Mexican bus. We went straight to lunch at a place that was set up to seat a wedding for 400, and there was 19 of us. The food was amazing. Now we’re just sleeping, or walking around the area surrounding the hotel, trying to stay awake (to combat jet lag) and heading out for dinner shortly where we’ll meet the rest of the groups. And yes, it is so hot and sticky out. I’m really glad the high today was 28C and not 36C like it was last week.
